FROM SOUTH TO NORTH
I am a South African-born designer whose work is guided by a strong sense of aesthetics, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Since 2011 I have been living in Switzerland, where I create and work from The Atelier Sterne in Matten bei Interlaken.
My journey into fashion began in South Africa, where I studied Fashion Design and Marketing after finishing school. I then entered the South African fashion industry, working in manufacturing coordination and quality control for several well-known menswear and childrenswear brands, including Markhams, POLO, 46664 Nelson Mandela and various Edcon labels. During these years I developed a deep understanding of garment production — from design and development to CMT manufacturing and the realities of commercial clothing.
Later I co-founded the clothing label NorthSouth Clothing together with my brother in Berlin, continuing to explore my creative work beyond South Africa and collaborating internationally.
When I moved to Switzerland and started a family, my professional path naturally shifted. For several years my focus was on raising our children, yet creativity always remained present in my life. As our children grew older, I gradually returned to my design work and began developing my own creative projects again. Today I work from The Atelier Sterne, where fabrics, ideas and craftsmanship come together. My work is driven by a love for beautiful materials and thoughtful design, with each piece created carefully and intentionally.

I enjoy creating and transforming spaces. I have always had a strong ability to visualise how an environment can evolve through colour, texture, light and atmosphere.

Offered in various lengths and made from fabrics with bold, expressive patterns, each piece stands on its own. Whether worn as a statement layer or a subtle addition, it adapts effortlessly to different settings and occasions.
WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS
The Atelier Sterne is in a beautiful location, surrounded by the mountains of the Bernese Oberland.
I have always had a strong sense of aesthetics and I am very particular about style, fabrics and finishing. My perfectionist approach means that every detail matters. Many of the pieces created here are unique garments, often produced in small numbers or as one-of-a-kind creations.
